Decorative plaster Wave

Textured plaster is perfect for finishing buildings near the sea because it can withstand harsh external factors like salts, UV rays, and high humidity.

The exterior and interior facades of buildings are designed in a singular, unmistakable way by the wave-like patterns of decorative plaster.

A layer of vapor-permeable plaster keeps the interior of the building comfortably humid and allows for continuous air exchange.

What the mixture consists of and what is needed for its application

Using cellulose, thickeners, plasticizers, fillers derived from marble, granite, or quartz flour, and acrylic and latex as a base, Wave is a decorative plaster.

Decorative glitter, mother-of-pearl, gold, bronze, and silver powder, as well as different pigments, can be added to the mixture to create decorative effects.

Ready-made mixes that are fully operational are provided in plastic containers.

A mixture for interior decoration is bought for interior work. Granite or marble plaster mixture for external work can be used to decorate facades.

Equip yourself with the following tools before you begin work:

  • paint tray;
  • a set of steel spatulas;
  • structural rollers and stencils;
  • a stainless steel trowel;
  • foam sponges.

To mix the solution, you’ll need a construction mixer or a drill with a nozzle.

Decorative plaster in the shape of waves gives walls a dynamic, textured appearance that resembles the fluidity of ocean waves. It’s a flexible option for people looking to design a sophisticated, eye-catching interior. You can easily apply this finish yourself, adding a touch of artistic flair to any room, with the right tools and techniques.

Technology of applying decorative plaster wave

Dust, oil stains, peeling paint, and debris should all be removed from the walls’ and ceilings’ surfaces.

A flawlessly smooth base is not necessary for textured plaster to work.

Putty is used to level small irregularities and defects in walls, and two coats of a deep penetration primer containing antiseptics are applied. As soon as the first coat is fully dry, we begin applying the second.

Depending on the surrounding conditions (temperature and humidity), the primer may take up to five days to dry.

The ideal temperature range for plastering is between 5 and 35 degrees.

The following order is followed when performing the work:

  1. Mix the finished mixture thoroughly using a drill with an attachment or a construction mixer. If necessary, add dyes or other decorative elements to the mixture. Instructions for use, characteristics and consumption of the mixture are indicated on the packaging of the material.
  2. Apply the solution to a small section of the wall in an even layer, 1-1.5 mm thick, using a trowel and spatula.
  3. On a wet solution, using the flat surface of the trowel, we form a textured pattern. The method of application, sequence and amplitude of movements must be the same in order to create a single harmonious pattern over the entire surface of the wall. We perform the work quickly, without interruptions. After the mixture dries, the pattern can no longer be finished. The elastic material is almost impossible to sand. You can start painting the Volna plaster no earlier than after two or three days.
  4. Use a fur roller to roll a glazing polishing compound onto the textured surface and, without letting it dry, treat the surface with a foam sponge.
  5. After the polishing layer has dried, after 2-3 hours we go over the dried layer, lightly touching the surface with a rubber roller with a small amount of paint. We dip the roller into the paint and remove the excess by rolling it over plywood or a wooden board. With light movements, go over the plaster with a roller, painting only the protruding elements. Due to the uneven coloring, the relief of the pattern is emphasized.

Textures created by relief rollers

Relief rollers can be used to create marine-style plaster ornaments, such as decorative waves, and other textured patterns that repeat.

Apply the plaster solution to the wall and use a figured roller to vigorously roll it over.

For a solid canvas with a repeating pattern, the application speed, direction, and pressure force must be uniform throughout the wall.

To prevent overlaps and indentations, we complete every strip end-to-end. Before each rolling, the roller needs to be moistened with water to produce distinct and clear reliefs.

Any sharp edges and small flaws are fixed with a brush or foam rubber. A specific mesh can be used to sand the final prints.

The decorative plaster’s surface is prepared for additional painting and varnishing after two days.

Wave decorative plaster is a flexible choice that gives your walls a dynamic, textured look. Its distinctive patterns give any space a sense of movement and depth. This plaster can be tailored to your desired design, whether you’re going for a more pronounced wave or a subtle ripple effect.

Even though it takes some skill, the application process is doable for those who are prepared to put in the necessary time and effort. Even do-it-yourself enthusiasts can produce results that look professional with the correct supplies and methods. The secret is to go slowly, work in small chunks, and pay close attention to the directions.

Wave decorative plaster requires little upkeep in terms of maintenance. It’s a practical option for busy households because of its easy-to-clean textured surface, which can conceal minor imperfections. Furthermore, it is strong and long-lasting, guaranteeing that your walls will look gorgeous for many years to come.

All things considered, wave decorative plaster is a great option for anyone wishing to infuse their interior spaces with a dash of style and originality. It provides a distinctive method to improve the visual appeal of your walls, whether it is utilized as a focal point or all over a space.
